THURSDAY, APRIL 20, 2006
This month Doug Ahlberg, Director of Emergency Management, and Margo McKendree,
Lancaster County Citizen Corps & Emergency Volunteer Program Director, will explain
the signs, warnings, and actions to be taken during severe weather.
Both Margo and Doug were key coordinators the night of, and during the cleanup of, the Hallam tornado disaster. Working in conjunction with, and sometimes as liaison between Federal, State, County, and City agencies, they helped provide an efficient response operation to the Village.
Doug and Margo will have us knowledgeably aware of conditions to look for, not only concerning weather but also on domestic terrorism preparedness, hazardous material releases, and suspicious packages. They’ll show how we can prepare ourselves and therefore eliminate disastrous consequences.
