NORTHEAST CITIZENS’ MEETING
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2006
We all have had a new hot water heater installed, wished for a new deck outside the kitchen window, or possibly thought about adding an addition to our house. Tonight we’ll hear what we need in advance, how to proceed, learn about various housing codes, and what has to be inspected after completion of a project.
The Lincoln Building and Safety Department’s Rex Crawford, Plumbing Inspector, John Boies, Chief Housing Inspector, and Gordon McGill, Plans Examiner, will give examples of how homeowners safety and health really are the prime objectives of their jobs. Your questions will be answered on what type of jobs need permits (whose responsibility is it to obtain the permit - yours or the contractor’s?), what has to be inspected (at what stage of building or fixing?), what happens when a house is dilapidated, (or there is trash and junk on the property?) and also explain how they can assist property owners with general building guidelines.
This meeting will be one of needed information and also colorful job anecdotes. Not a meeting to miss!
Please join us on:
