City Council Office
This month we’re thrilled to have Clayton Naff, Executive Director of the Lincoln Literacy Council as our guest speaker.Under Clayton’s leadership the Lincoln Literacy Council, a nonprofit organization, won the 2008 Nonprofit Innovation Award! Clayton is married with two daughters but still finds time to be a journalist, writing articles and editing books on a regular basis. Not content, he also has a weekly science program on KZUM 89.3 FM.
At the Lincoln Literacy Council Clayton mostly works with low income women struggling to become literate in English so they can find work, participate in their children’s education, and be part of the civic life of our community. Clayton will present “A Prosperous Future for Lincoln?"illustrating how New Americans in our community represents both an opportunity and a challenge, and how the Lincoln Literacy Council plays a role in this process.
After his presentation Clayton has left time for a questions and answers period. This meeting will be very informative in helping us understand what is needed and why. You won’t want to miss this meeting.
