COUNCILMAN DOUG EMERY'S
NORTHEAST CITIZENS’ MEETING
THURSDAY, JULY 19, 2012

We are pleased to welcome County Commissioner, Brent Smoyer, as our guest speaker this month. Brent represents Lincoln’s Northeast area, District 5. As office holders of the Northeast District Lincoln City Councilman Doug Emery and Brent often collaborate on issues of importance to our community.

Brent was elected to the office of County Commissioner in 2010. After graduating from Drake University he spent two years working in the Iowa Senate and he currently serves as legal counsel to the Nebraska Legislature’s Rules Committee and its Chair.

Brent will update us on important legislative issues which affect us and are now being discussed in the Legislature. He also will give explanation of the growth of Lincoln, in the Northeast area as well as throughout the county.

Brent assured us he would leave enough time to answer our specific questions.
