Deputy Chief, Jeanne Pashalek

Deputy Chief, Jeanne Pashalek Jeanne is currently the Battalion Two Chief of Emergency Services on A shift and she is responsible for the management of seven fire stations and half of the eighty-eight personnel on her shift. The duties/responsibilities include the command of operations during emergency incidents, supervision of personnel and equipment, growth and development of personnel, and administrative and management details assigned by the fire chief.

Jeanne began her career with Lincoln Fire & Rescue in 1990. She was assigned to a hazardous materials station and became certified as a Hazardous Materials Technician and served on the team for a few years. In 1996 she became a Nationally Registered Paramedic and served as the paramedic on Engine Company #4 until 1999. In May of 1999 she was promoted to captain and she was ssigned to Station #14 where she was the Hazardous Materials Team Captain. In the fall of 2001 she was reassigned as an EMS Supervisor and served in that capacity for one year. She was a floating captain until 2003 when she was assigned to Station #6 as the captain of Engine #6 and Medic #6. She served as the House Captain until 2007 when she was promoted to Deputy Chief.

Jeanne earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Natural Science from Doane College in 1985 and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Management Degree with a Leadership Emphasis from Doane College. She has attended the National Fire Academy for courses in public education and personnel growth and development and has attended numerous conferences/seminars to enhance her education in various aspects of the fire service.

Jeanne has received numerous commendations throughout her career including: Phoenix Awards, Unit Performance Awards, Person in Blue Award, Footprinters Firefighter of the Year Award, Tribute to Women Award, and the Young Alumnus Award from Doane College.

Jeanne has been actively involved throughout her career in various capacities with Lincoln Fire & Rescue. She has been involved with public education, Recruitment Committee, EEO Diversity Committee, Hazardous Materials Team member, NETF-1 Urban Search & Rescue member, CPR Instructor, accreditation committee member, and a member of the Nebraska Critical Incident Stress Management Program.
