None presented.
NEW BUSINESS
911 is now using selective routing to receive incoming 911 calls. The
routing is based on county boundary lines. 911 will be putting a new PC
based phone system in service in the 911 center October 6.
Lincoln Police have received a 1.2 million dollar COPS grant to enhance
communications with surrounding counties.
George Texeira has been hired to file Larry Wiles old position. George attended our meeting to introduce himself to everyone. Eric Rasmussen wanted to remind everyone to finish and clean up their Fire Service grants.
Doug has received an amendment from the State for the 2005 ODP money that questioned control of City and County communications assets. It looks as if the State wants to have the right to use any tower we are using to put their antennas and communications equipment. Doug said he wasn't going to sign this until it is more clarified. This may mean we won't be getting another radio towe! r. He hoped to know by our next meeting. Doug has the LEOP on CD Rom and he will send them out to everyone. The MCI Plan is being updated also. Doug also brought a sample agreement that has been approved by FEMA to be used for Mutual aid departments to bill each other. I will enclose a copy in this newsletter. Please show them to your board members and chiefs.
COMMUNICATIONS
