OLD BUSINESS
The Nextel Tower at 68th and Olive Creek should be up and running any time. Dan Wright still has some AFFF left if anyone is interested.
NEW BUSINESS
Doug is looking for ideas for Homeland security $. Some ideas were GPS systems and Thermal Imagers. Doug also says the new command post is in and will be ready to go soon.
Julie from 911 asked about radio refresher training. She would be willing to send Pete from the radio shop myself and Tara Garza to teach these. There have been some reports of the rural address signs put up by the county engineers having some errors. If you find any errors report these to Arlen at the county engineers. 911 needs an inventory of all our 800 assets for the Nextel rebanding. Any cost to replace any equipment and time used will be reimbursed by Nextel.
NIMS compliance must be done by September 1st 2006. No federal grant of any kind can be applied for unless you are NIMS compliant. Doug should be sending out an attestment letter. Chiefs will be required to have NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800. All other firefighters and rescue personnel must have 100, 200 and 700. The 300 and 400 classes must be taught in a classroom setting at 12-16 hours per class. Pat Borer from LFR is going back to the NFA to take a train the trainer class in these. Doug has money available to teach these to the Mutual Aid Association chiefs if Pat is willing.
There will be a scenario ready for the Airshow exercises by the end of May
