OLD BUSINESS
Still having paging problems county wide.
NEW BUSINESS
Doug Ahlberg brought Mark Hoskins who is the Health Departments Pandemic coordinator to the meeting to introduce to everyone. Doug also discussed the debrief for the van accident on the Interstate. He said the debriefing went well . He also said after this incident it was discovered the county MCI plan isn’t very NIMS compliant. He will make the corrections to the MCI plan to bring it up to NIMS compliance, He would also like us to contact him to get the NIMS 300 & 400 classes set up.
Eric Rasmussen updated us on Some bills. He says LB244 isn’t going to pass. The Fire Chiefs Association is opposing this bill. He also says it will be held over until next session if it doesn’t pass. LB160 did pass. (the bill to allow donations of NFPA compliant gear and equipment.) It will allow donations without the donator incurring liability.
We are moving the next meeting from the EOC to the Malcolm fire station. I’m sure most of the chiefs have received letters or emails regarding the Rural/EMS LFR committee findings. Jim and I thought this might be a major point of discussion for the meeting and decided to move to a location with alot more room for those attending.
