NEW BUSINESS
Phil Nalley asked about the status of burn permits from the Health Department about training house burns Rick Thorson from the Health Department attended the meeting and explained what they are asking. Due to our air quality getting worse over the last 4-6 years they would like us to remove content that would be hazardous such as shingles, siding, carpet and any asbestos. They will allow 2 unrestricted burns a year. The monitor the air quality for particulate matter and wouldn’t issue a permit if the air quality indicator is over 50. They are trying to get CRP burns staggered so there won’t be so many in one year. Raymond has moved their second ambulance to the Arbor station. The Nebraska City fire museum is open.
Radio ad-hoc committee
There was a discussion as to when to switch to Tac channels. A draft is being drawn up for the next mutual aid meeting. Eric Rasmussen would like to have a county wide workshop after the draft is completed. Waverly had a question about when they automatically get a Medic unit. They said they have been getting one on some Charlie calls and thought they only got one on Deltas and Echoes.
