OLD BUSINESS
I will be sending out dues for this year again. After talking to departments that haven’t already paid it appears that many didn’t receive them. Tim Linke, myself Jim Densberger and Jan Shaner are acting as a committee to review the 911 dispatch protocols for the rural departments with Lindsey Sheer from 911’s assistance if needed. If you have questions that need more immediate needs addressed can email Lindsey at lscheer@ci.lincoln.ne.us. The Southeast Fire foundation board met and voted to contribute the $2500.00 needed to schedule the additional day of the HAZ IQ class. The class will start on 12/6/09 and run every day through 12/10/09. Southeast’s new ambulances are in service and making calls. Remember if the Health Department issues a burn permit to tell people that they also need one from the Fire Department who’s district they are burning in.
NEW BUSINESS
Palmyra reports that the kids really enjoyed the Jr. water fights they had at Palmyra days. All departments should’ve received the paperwork from the NSVFA and Fire Chiefs association for membership renewal. Eric Rasmussen also reports that the safe cigarette bill and the move over bills have passed. The state convention will be hosted by Madison in Norfolk this year. The Stat Firefightrs museum will be having the VIP opening on 7/8 through 7/10 and the grand opening will be on 7/25 and 7/26. Justin Stineman from Waverly passed away on 7/14/09. The Waverly Fire and Rescue Department was assisted by many mutual aid departments for coverage and in the procession and at the cemetery. Thanks to all that participated the funeral was a fitting tribute to Justin and both Waverly’s district and the Camp Creek threshers show was all covered.
EMS
