OLD BUSINESS
Hazmat IQ will be held from 12/6/09 through 12/10/09. The class on the 6th is tentatively to be scheduled from 1200-2000. The classes during the work week will be from 0800-1700. Asked for an update on Midwest Medical on our radio system. Technically the City of Lincoln owns the majority of our radio system. Probably need to look at whether we should still have a Communications fund or whether the dues we pay for this should be earmarked for something else. LFR will check on any upcoming IS 300 and 400 for us.
NEW BUSINESS
Palmyra asked about getting a resource directory from Emergency Management. Malcolm is having a house burn in either September or October. There have been some problems with contact people for local CO OP’s for anhydrous leaks. Phil Nalley from Southwest is trying to get us good contact numbers for their representatives. Need to get your NSVFA membership packets done and returned. The NSVFA also has some new benefits available for members. The annual meeting of the NSVFA is October 16th and 17th in Norfolk NE hosted by Madison NE. The NSVFA is looking at legislative for this year. September 19th is the Firefighters day at the new Firefighters museum. Our Molotov cocktail vandalisms seem to have moved into Otoe county and out of Lancaster.
EMS
Need to get the contracts signed and back to Greg Hall. Our total cost this year was $ 97,500.00
911 Protocol review committee
We reviewed rescue alarms and having Starcare called when we have rescue alarm responses. I contacted Lindsey with our concerns and they have been addressed with all the 911 Dispatchers. Our next meeting will be at the Southeast Fire Pinelake station September 19th at 10:30. We will be discussing the county MCI plan from emergency Management.
