OLD BUSINESS
The discussion was continued on if there was any need for the Communications fund. The final motion carried unanimously to roll the Communications funds remaining money into the savings account to draw interest. This has been done. Doug Ahlberg will bring a map of how the Statewide radio system will work. Our region will be receiving * Paraclete systems so the regions communications centers can talk to each other. The legislative breakfast went well per Eric Rasmussen. Hearings are beginning on LB522 which discusses how Rescue Squad donation dollars can be used and on LB780 The Mental Health bill for First Responders. This would allow First Responder to draw on Workmans Comp for mental trauma caused by a call. We also need to keep a close eye as to the State continuing to financially support the Fire Marshals office. The NSVFA and The Chiefs Association are looking at a computer system to improve Fire School registration. Information on classes should be out shortly.

NEW BUSINESS
The National Special Olympics will be held in Lincoln from July 17th through July 24th. Doug says that on June 16th there will be a plane landing at the Lincoln Airport every 90 seconds. Many of the incoming flight paths are over our Districts. The same thing will happen on the 24th when the Athletes leave. just a heads up. FEMA is reimbursing for costs incurred from the blizzards. Let Doug know if you think you have things that qualify. Raymond now has one of the triage trailers at their main station. Doug will attempt to get funding for another HAZMAT IQ class. It will also be held at the HAZMAT conference in Hastings the last weekend in March.
