BUSINESS:
Ron Hutt from NEMA attended our meeting to explain and answer questions on the Statewide radio system. It will cover high speed data transfer as well as have a VHF, UHF and 800 band. It will like PSAPs across the state. Ron says they are starting in the Panhandle right now and it may be two years after the start when it reaches our end of the state. Pete from the radio shop also attended the meeting to answer questions about narrow banding of our paging system. He does think going to narrow band capable pager is a good idea but doesn’t think narrow banding is going to be a problem for us. We have lost two members of Mutual Aid departments in the last week. Jim Mclaughlin from Bennet and Leon Tenhulzen from Hickman. Please send your prayers to their families and to their department members who are grieving right now. They will be missed greatly.
