Since this is my last newsletter let me says it has been a pleasure serving you all as your Secretary/Treasurer for the last sixteen years. I will miss seeing you all at meetings! Doug talked about pager purchases. Low bid was $364.00 per pager with an amplified charger. A two year extended warranty is an additional $40.00. The total bid for Lancaster and Seward counties was $240,000.00. Programming of the pagers is also included. These will all be Minitor 5's. Greg from the Radio shop says the Hallam tower is just waiting on two licenses then everything will be moved from the tower at 68th & Olive Creek to the Hallam site. SE Fire has been contacted by the County Event Center to see if there is any interest in water fights during the County Fair. The NSVFA has received a SAFER grant totaling $ 2,000,000 over the next four years. This year the Chiefs seminars will have a National Fire Academy class at each of them. Association dues were looked at to see if any changes needed to be made. A motion was voted on and passed to leave them at $50.00 The Legislative breakfast will be in February this year. Motion was mad and approved to buy Holiday treats for the 911 Center.
Elections were held for the Association Officers positions for 2013. Jim Densberger will be retained as President. The new Vice President is John Porter from Southeast Fire and the new Secretary/Treasurer will be Phil Nalley from Southwest Fire. Congratulations to the new Officers. I hope they have as much enjoyment out of serving the Association as I did.
