World Trade Center Attacks, Sept. 11th

 

Events of September 28, 2001

CURRENT SITUATION
The Colorado Task Force is relieving the Rapid Response Task Force #1 (RRTF#1) led by Dean Staberg at Fort Totten. Team #1 is then heading to the World Trade Center site where they will be reunited with the rest of the NE-TF1 team. Team #2 with Task Force Leader, Dan Wright, is currently at the World Trade Center Site this morning and is working the rubble.

CRITICAL ISSUE
None

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
NE-TF1 has been relieved of their Rapid Response duties of assisting the New York City Fire Department and has started working the rubble at the World Trade Center Site.

RESOURCES ASSIGNED
NE-TF1 is still divided into two teams with one group led by Task Force Leader, Dan Wright, currently working the World Trade Center site. NE-TF1 will be working 24 hours at the site with two shifts of 12 hours each. The second NE-TF1 team led by Task Force Leader, Dean Staberg, will relieve Danny Wright's team.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES (next 24 - 72 hours)
Team #1 with Task Force Leader, Dean Staberg, will be at the site sometime mid-afternoon and will be briefed on operations at 1730 and then will relieve team #2 at 1900.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Moral is still high with members of the team and they are very excited to get started at the World Trade Center Site.

Today and Monday Lincoln Fire & Rescue will be receiving a conference call from Chief Spadt at 10:30 a.m.

There will be no press briefing on Saturday or Sunday.
