Mayor Don Wesely today announced that he will host quarterly town hall meetings in all four City Council districts this year. The first town hall is set for Monday, March 13 at the Isles Reception Hall, 6232 Havelock Avenue.
"The Directors of all the city departments have been invited, so this is an excellent opportunity for citizens to meet them and have their questions answered," Mayor Wesely said. "Although we will be discussing issues specifically associated with northeast Lincoln, all city residents are welcome."
The town hall begins at 7 p.m. with a reception. At 7:30, Mayor Wesely and City Council Member Coleen Seng who represents the northeast district will speak. City Directors will be introduced and the public will have an opportunity to ask questions. At 8:30, there will be an opportunity for informal follow-up discussion. Refreshments are being provided by the Isles and the Havelock Business Association.
The city's government access channel, 5 CITY-TV, will tape the program to be aired at later dates on cable channel 5.
All City Council and Lancaster County Board members are also invited to the town hall, along with members of Lancaster County's delegation in the State Legislature. The Mayor plans to have a meeting in the northwest district in June, the southwest district in September and the southeast district in November.
