Mayor Don Wesely and City Council member Annette McRoy will host a Town Hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 19 at the Lincoln Firefighters Reception Hall, 241 Applecreek Road. The meeting is the second in a series of quarterly town hall meetings planned for all four City Council districts this year. The first was held March 13 in northeast Lincoln.
Although this Town Hall is being held in northwest Lincoln, all city residents are welcome. All city departments will be represented, and invitations have also been sent to the City Council, Lancaster County Board, City-County Planning Commission, area State Senators and neighborhood representatives.
The town hall begins at 7 p.m. with a reception. At 7:30, Wesely and McRoy will speak briefly. Representatives of the city departments will be introduced, and the public will then have an opportunity to ask questions. Members of the public will be allowed only one question and one follow-up question until all wishing to speak have been heard. At 8:30, there will be an opportunity for informal follow-up discussion.
The city's government access channel, 5 CITY-TV, will tape the 7:30 to 8:30 portion of the meeting to be aired at later dates on cable channel 5.
The Mayor plans to have a meeting in the southwest district in September and the southeast district in November.
