Mayor Don Wesely and City Council member Jonathan Cook will host a Town Hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, September 11 at the Auld Recreation Center, 3140 Sumner in Antelope Park. The meeting is the third in a series of quarterly town hall meetings planned for all four City Council districts this year. The first was held March 13 in northeast Lincoln, and the second was held June 19 in northwest Lincoln. The Mayor plans to have a meeting in the southeast district in November.
Although this meeting is designed for residents in the southwest part of Lincoln, all city residents are welcome to attend. All city departments will be represented, and invitations have also been sent to the City Council, Lancaster County Board, City-County Planning Commission and area State Senators.
The town hall begins at 7 p.m. with a reception. At 7:30, Wesely and Cook will speak briefly. Representatives of the city departments will be introduced, and the public will then have an opportunity to ask questions. Members of the public will be allowed only one question and one follow-up question until all wishing to speak have been heard. At 8:30, there will be an opportunity for informal follow-up discussion.
The city's government access channel, 5 CITY-TV, will tape the 7:30 to 8:30 portion of the meeting to be aired at later dates on cable channel 5.
