Town Hall Meeting Planned For July 16

Mayor Don Wesely will host a Town Hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, July 16 at the Auld Recreation Center, 3140 Sumner in Antelope Park. All city departments will be represented, and all residents of the city are welcome.

"This is an excellent opportunity for citizens to ask questions about the city budget, the beltways, Antelope Valley and the other major issues facing our community," said Mayor Wesely. "This will be our fifth Town Hall meeting, it has been very helpful to have city leaders hear the concerns of those we serve."

Invitations are also being sent to the City Council, Lancaster County Board, City-County Planning Commission, area State Senators, neighborhood representatives and community organizations.

The town hall begins at 7 p.m. with a reception. At 7:30, the Mayor will make brief remarks and introduce representatives of the city departments. The public will then have an opportunity to ask questions. Members of the public will be allowed one question and one follow-up question until all wishing to speak have been heard. At 8:30, there will be an opportunity for informal follow-up discussion.

The Auld Recreation Center is air-conditioned, and refreshments will be served.

The city’s government access channel, 5 CITY-TV, will tape the 7:30 to 8:30 portion of the meeting to be aired at later dates on cable channel 5.
