"This Thanksgiving is a very important one in our nation, as we cope with the tragic events of September 11 and move forward in the war on terrorism. As we gather to give thanks for our many blessings, we remember the victims, their families and all those experiencing loss this holiday. We send our best wishes to the brave men and women who are serving us in the military and in our local public safety agencies. We give thanks for the strength of our country and our community. And we give thanks that we live in a nation where we reach out and care about each other as families, as communities and as Americans."
