Mayor Don Wesely's Holiday Message

"Families celebrate this holiday season in many different ways depending on their religious beliefs, ethnicity, culture and tradition. But the holiday ideal of "peace on earth" is universal, and it holds special meaning for us this year. As families come together across America this holiday season, many will mourn the loss of loved ones and the absence of those who have been called to serve their country.

"Our enemy is not just one man and his terrorist networks. In a country founded on diversity and freedom, our enemy is intolerance. Each of us can help create a more tolerant world simply by treating each other with understanding, kindness and respect. This season of giving is the perfect time to put those words into action by donating your time and resources to help those less fortunate in our community. Each time you help another person, we all take another step closer to toward true peace on earth.

"May God bless you and your family this holiday season, and may God bless America."
