Mayor Don Wesely announced today that ACTON International of Lincoln has been approved for a City job creation loan that will add 20 new jobs and retain 44.5 full-time equivalent positions. The company currently has 96 employees.
"This gives us the opportunity to reconfigure our plant," said Lynn T. Leffert, Vice Chairman of ACTON International. "We wouldn’t be able to do this without the help of the City of Lincoln."
"We welcome the expansion of full-time employees at ACTON," Mayor Wesely said.
ACTON, which started in 1968, is located at 3401 N.W. 39th Street. The company provides direct marketing advertising services to banks and other businesses in the financial services industry.
"Keeping jobs and adding more is important to the city’s economic base," Wesely said. "The City’s Economic Development Coordinator and Urban Development Department worked directly with ACTON to facilitate the firm’s growth."
The loan is provided through the City’s Community Development Block Grant fund and was recommended for approval by the Mayor’s Economic Development Loan Committee. The committee is composed of City staff and citizens appointed by the Mayor. The committee screens and reviews loan applicants and awards loan funds.
