North Cotner Boulevard between "O" and "R" streets will re-open to through traffic Friday evening, May 24. At that time, North 56th Street between "O" and "P" streets will close for about six weeks. There will be no access from "O" Street to North 56th Street, and drivers on 56th Street will be detoured onto Cotner Boulevard. Motorists have access to local businesses in the affected area, and drivers should watch for signs guiding them to businesses. North 56th Street will be open to local traffic from "R" Street south to the alley between "O" and "P" streets. The intersection of 56th and "P" streets will be open. South 56th Street between Randolph and "O" Street will close around May 31 and will re-open when North 56th re-opens. "O" Street access to South 56th Street will also close when the section of 56th from Randolph to"O" closes. Construction crews will install new water and gas mains in 56th Street and re-pave the section between "N" and "P" streets.
