Area residents are invited to comment on local transportation issues at an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 14 at the Energy Square Building, 1111 “O” Street in Lincoln. The event is part of the Multi-Modal Transportation Study being conducted by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Department. The study, part of the City-County Comprehensive Plan, is examining ways to serve the area’s long-range travel needs by expanding alternative transportation systems including busing, car-pooling, walking and bicycling. At the open house, transportation providers and local government agencies will provide information on local programs and transportation initiatives. More information on the study is available by calling the Planning Department at 441-7491 and by visiting the study website at www.lincoln.ne.gov (click on Planning). Those who want to comment but are unable to attend the open house can provide ideas by sending an e-mail to plan@lincoln.ne.gov or a fax to 441-6377. |
