A special meeting of the Cable Television Advisory Board is scheduled or 4 p.m. Thursday March 25 in the Mayor’s Conference Room, second floor of the County-City Building, 555 South 10th Street. The Cable Television Advisory Board monitors the local cable company, considers complaints against the cable franchise, makes recommendations on cable policy issues and recommends policy for access channels. The agenda for the March meeting will include discussion of the Board’s by-laws, subcommittees and plan of action. The public is invited to meetings of the 11-member board. The board’s regular meetings are held quarterly, at 4 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month in January, April, July and October Lincoln attorney Herb Friedman was elected Chair of the Cable Television Advisory Board at the board’s regular meeting January 22. Rob Hackwith, Tuffy Auto Service Center, was elected Vice-Chair, and Jim Johnson, Nebraska Department of Revenue, was re-elected secretary. The City Council also approved the Mayor’s two new appointments to the board November 24. They are Lincoln attorney James Kelley and Annie Mumgaard, a producer at the Nebraska ETV Network. Other members of the board are Jeff Chambers, Alltel; Donna Behlen, Behlen Productions; H. Kirk Langer, Jr., Lincoln Public Schools; Richard Noble, retired; Bryan Rickertsen, CommGraphics; and Pat Taft, CHP International Inc.
