UPGRADING OF PETER PAN SKATE PARK UNDER WAY

The upgrading of the Peter Pan skate park at 32nd and W streets began this week. The equipment installed in 2001 was removed today. A perimeter fence is scheduled to be installed tomorrow, and the installation of the new equipment will begin this week, weather permitting. The City Parks and Recreation Department said the new equipment is expected to be open for use on Tuesday, August 21.

The wood-framed skate park equipment at the park had reached the end of its useful life. It is being replaced with new steel-framed equipment in a similar configuration to the current layout.
