Tickets are now on sale for the Mayor’s Interfaith Prayer Breakfast Thursday, May 1 at the Embassy Suites. Doors will open at 7 a.m., and the breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. The event is being hosted by Mayor Chris Beutler and Interchurch Ministries of Nebraska, and the theme is “Building an Interfaith World.” The keynote speaker will be Beth Katz, Director of Project Interfaith, Omaha. Katz is an Omaha native and Creighton University graduate who founded the organization in 2005 to promote understanding and respect for religious diversity through innovative programs. Music will be provided by a combined choir, which includes the First United Methodist Inspirational Singers and the Allon Chapel Seventh-Day Adventist Praise Team. Tickets are $16 each, and reservations are due by April 23. Checks can be made payable to Mayor’s Interfaith Prayer Breakfast and mailed to Interchurch Ministries at 215 Centennial Mall South, Suite 300, Lincoln, NE 68508. Those purchasing two or more tickets or tables of ten will be listed in the event program as sponsors. The breakfast will be interpreted for the deaf and hard of hearing.
