Fire Chief Niles Ford, 441-8350

Fire Chief Niles Ford will present “Honorary Firefighter” awards to nine employees of Veyance Technologies, Inc. (formally Goodyear) at 7:15 a.m. Friday, April 18 at the company, 4021 N. 56th St. They are being honored for their actions after one of their co-workers collapsed and became unresponsive. Their quick response in performing CPR and their use of the on-site AED were vital in saving the life of the worker.

The employees to be recognized are Kris Davison, Mike Dickey, Mike Lauver, Mike Litt, Scott Nichelson, Ron Predoehl, Paul Pearson, Jim Reichwaldt and Cori Watkins.

“This is a great example of how our citizens, combined with the top-quality medical care in Lincoln, help make this community an outstanding place to live,” said Chief Ford. “Their life-saving actions contributed to a wonderful outcome and positive ending.”

In addition to Chief Ford, members of the Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews who responded to the emergency will attend the award presentation.
