City of Lincoln Mayor's Office 2009 Media Releases |
The City of Lincoln has opened a new multi-material recycling center at the entrance to the Lancaster Event Center, 4100 N. 84th St. Individuals can drop off newspapers, cardboard, aluminum and tin cans, glass bottles, plastic containers and mixed paper for recycling at no cost. The items must be separated and placed into designated containers and compartments. "The site is another opportunity for residents of Lincoln to do their part for the environment," Recycling Coordinator Gene Hanlon said. "This location offers residents and workers in the surrounding area a convenient and easy way to recycle, and we appreciate the support of the Event Center in hosting the site." The new site is one of 22 multi-material drop-off recycling sites in Lincoln. The City also has four newspaper- only drop-off sites.
