A power surge damaged the Internet communication equipment and servers at Lincoln City Libraries, and library service will be impacted through early next week.
During this period, the Web site and online catalog will not be in operation, but staff will be available to assist library users in locating items. Library users can check out items, but they must go to a library with their library cards. Items previously checked out cannot be renewed, but any late fees that accumulate due to the current interruption will be waived.
Other services that are temporarily unavailable include Internet through Wi Fi or computer labs, placement of holds, courtesy notices, downloadable audio books and access to data bases.
"Library staff and contractors are working diligently to repair equipment as quickly as possible," said Library Director Pat Leach. "We realize this is a major inconvenience to our customers and thank them for their patience."
