Mayor's Statement On Governor's Budget Proposal

"We recognize the budget challenges faced by the State and want to be part of a solution, but the City of Lincoln has already cut nearly 120 jobs and millions in spending the last four years. The $1.8 million in State aid the City of Lincoln stands to lose will place immediate pressure on property taxes or lead to cuts in core services such as police and fire protection. We hope to discuss alternatives that meet the State's budget needs without further burdening local property taxpayers."
