Lincoln City Libraries' (LCL) preschool storytime program will welcome firefighters from Lincoln Fire & Rescue (LFR) in October. The firefighters will serve as guest readers for LCL's free half-hour program for children ages three through five.
"A large part of our job is the interactions we have with the community at various levels, not just emergency services," said Battalion Chief Jeanne Pashalek. "We take pride in our commitment to public education, and this is just an example of how we can reach out and impact people of all ages in the community. We look forward again to the opportunity to read to the preschoolers at our local libraries."
LCL's preschool storytime supports early literacy by offering vocabulary development, experiences with a variety of literature and participation in language-related activities. Preregistration is not required, and newcomers are always welcome.
