Parks and Recreation Offers Program on Growing Roses

The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the Lincoln Parks Foundation to offer a new program about growing roses in southeast Nebraska.

The "Roses! Roses! Roses!" seminar will be offered from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6 in the Hamann Rose Garden in Antelope Park at 27th and "C" streets, across from the Sunken Gardens. Sign-in begins at 12:30 p.m. The seminar includes six 20-minute sessions on selecting, planting, pruning and caring for roses. Refreshments and informational packets will be provided.

Registration is $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event. The public can pre-register in several ways:

• Call Parks and Recreation at 402-441-7847.
• Download a registration form at parks.lincoln.ne.gov. The form can be printed and mailed or delivered to the Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office, 2740 "A" Street, Lincoln, NE 68502.
• Forms are also available to complete at the Parks and Recreation office.

The rain date is Sunday, April 7. Proceeds from the program support care of the public rose gardens in Antelope Park.
