Beginning Monday, May 6, S. 17th Street from South to "A" streets will be closed for six weeks for street rehabilitation. The project will include a new concrete base with asphalt overlay and new curb and gutters. The pedestrian curb ramps will be reconstructed to meet ADA standards. The project is part of the citywide arterial street rehabilitation project, which includes work on 13 street segments throughout Lincoln.
The City will work with businesses and residences along S. 17th Street on access issues, and access to side streets and driveways will be restricted at times. Drivers are encouraged to use 13th Street as a detour route.
