Work is scheduled to begin Monday, October 21 (weather permitting) on the rehabilitation of S. 56th Street from Highway 2 north to Spruce Street. Lane closures will be required during the project, which is expected to take about three weeks. Access to side streets and driveways will be limited for short durations. The City and the contractor, Pavers Inc., will work with businesses and residents on access issues.
The project includes new asphalt and pavement markings as well as the reconstruction of pedestrian curb ramps at Shady Creek Road, Edgewood Drive, La Salle Street and Spruce to meet ADA standards.
