Asphalt overlay work will close lanes on Cornhusker Highway overnight beginning Sunday, June 8. Lanes of Cornhusker Highway will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from 31st Street Circle to 48th Street and 11th to 19th streets. Lanes will also be closed on 11th Street from Saunders Avenue to Cornhusker. The work is scheduled to be completed by June 16, weather permitting.
The contractor may decide to work through the weekend in order to complete the work on time.
During construction, one lane in each direction will remain open at all times, however there will be disruptions as trucks and equipment enter and exit the work area. Adjacent side streets and driveways will be closed for short durations to allow the contractor to pave intersections.
The project is funded with State highway maintenance funds from the Nebraska Department of Roads.
The City Public Works and Utilities Department appreciates the public's patience during construction and urges motorists to use extra caution in work zones. See the project information page. For more information on City construction projects, visit lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: projects).
