The public is invited to the 2014 Lincoln-Lancaster County Environmental Leadership award ceremony and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday, November 14 at the Nebraska Innovation Campus Conference Center, 2021 Transformation Dr.
Scott Holmes, Environmental Public Health Division Manager at the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, said the ceremony will recognize businesses, organizations and individuals who have demonstrated environmental leadership in sustaining and improving air, land and water quality and protecting public health.
The 2014 Lincoln-Lancaster County Environmental Leadership Award recipients are:
To be eligible for an award, individuals and groups must have been instrumental in identifying, reducing or solving an environmental problem or promoting public awareness and concern for the enhancement and protection of the environment. Winners also will have demonstrated active stewardship in one or more of the following environmental practices - pollution prevention/risk education, waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, soil conservation, energy conservation and residential and commercial development.
