Beginning Monday, May 4, construction will begin for the remaining work on the new storm drainage system installed last winter in the area of South 49th Street and Rentworth Drive. The project will require lane closures on South 48th Street, and area businesses will be affected by barricades, pavement section removal and replacement and other construction activities. Access to businesses will be maintained but may be limited for public safety. The project is expected to be completed in mid to late June.
The remaining work includes the removal and replacement of street paving, curbs and gutters, sidewalks and a driveway. The work also will include construction of new storm drainage curb inlets and manholes. The project is funded through the 2012 Stormwater Bond Issue.
