Street rehabilitation work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 22 on 70th Street from Van Dorn to Eastborough Lane. The project will require only lane closures, and access will be maintained to all local residents and businesses.
The project includes concrete pavement repair and construction of new sidewalk curb ramps to meet current ADA standards. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2016, with a break in construction from November to March. Construction will take place south of "O" Street this year, and street work in front of Morley Elementary and East High will be completed during the current summer break.
Work north of "O" Street and the replacement of the pedestrian crossing signal in front of Morley Elementary will take place in 2016. Work in the intersection of 70th and "A" Streets will also take place in 2016 under a partial closure lasting no more than three days. During that time, "A" Street will be closed while 70th Street will remain open to traffic.
