Winter Hours in Effect at Pioneers Park Nature Center

Pioneers Park Nature Center staff remind residents that the Chet Ager Building is currently closed Monday through Friday. Weekend hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. The Nature Center, including the Prairie Building and adjacent trails, will continue to be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The facility will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

When visiting the Nature Center, the public is asked to remember that the area is managed for the plants and animals that live there. Visitors are asked to park bikes on the new bike racks at the parking lot before using the trails. Running in large groups can be hard on the trails and is discouraged. Dogs or other pets are not allowed at the facility because they can disturb the wildlife as well as non-releasable raptors, bison, elk and deer.

For more information about the Nature Center, visit parks.lincoln.ne.gov or call 402-441-7895.
