Trees to Be Removed and Relocated at Woods Park

The Parks and Recreation Department will begin to remove and relocate trees in Woods Park this week to prepare for construction of a new permanent, indoor tennis facility. While construction of the new building will not begin until later this summer, the tree work is being done now to comply with the Federal Migratory Bird Act.

About 16 trees will be removed, and about 13 trees will be relocated within the park. Additional trees will be planted after construction to enhance the surrounding park landscape.
