Volunteers Needed for Uncle Sam Jam

The public is invited to help with the City's annual Uncle Sam Jam Sunday, July 3 at Oak Lake Park. Volunteers are needed from noon through 9:45 p.m. to help with Parks and Recreation activities and to help direct cars in parking lots.

Individuals age 16 and up are needed to help with canoeing, the gaga pit, bubbles, the parachute, kite flying, carnival games, archery (if certified) and other activities. Shifts are available from noon to 8:30 p.m., and volunteers will receive t-shirts and a meal. To volunteer, contact Melissa Lindeman at 402-441-4900 or Dorothy Skorupa at 402-441-7959.

Individuals age 18 and up are needed to direct traffic for parking from 3:30 to 9:45 p.m. Volunteers will receive t-shirts and dinner, and vests will be provided. To volunteer, contact Jim Portis at 402-441-7958.

New and current Parks and Recreation volunteers are welcome. New volunteers are asked to sign up at parks.lincoln.ne.gov/volunteer or fill out a volunteer application and bring it to the event or submit it with their registration.
