One Book-One Lincoln Events Begin July 19

Lincoln City Libraries (LCL) invites the public to free One Book-One Lincoln events, including tours of an alternative senior living facility and community conversations. The 2016 selection is "Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End" by Atul Gawande, a practicing surgeon. His book addresses how the medical profession can enhance the quality of life even to the end.

Events begin Tuesday, July 19 with 15-minute tours of Elizabeth House, a Tabitha Green HouseĀ®, where seniors live in a restriction-free environment. Tours are offered from 4 to 7 p.m. at 501 S. 47th Street. Reservations are required by calling 402-441-8500.

Medical and elder care professionals will host the following Community Conversations:

LCL has sponsored the One Book-One Lincoln program since 2002 to encourage reading and dialogue by creating a community-wide reading and discussion experience. More information about LCL and the One Book-One Lincoln program is available at lincolnlibraries.org.
