Public Invited to Senior Center Picnic in Bennet

Event to feature musician Johnny Ray Gomez

The public is invited to the Aging Partners All-Rural Senior Center Picnic Thursday, September 1 at the Bennet Senior Center in the American Legion Hall Post #280, 970 Monroe St. The event will feature entertainment by musician Johnny Ray Gomez.

Lunch will be served at noon with entertainment starting at 1 p.m. There is a $4 suggested contribution for people age 60 and over, and an $8 fee for people under age 60. A bake sale also will be held.

"This will be a great event for seniors to meet a friend, or perhaps make new ones," said Paula Chamberlain, Aging Partners Rural Senior Centers Manager. "We hope people will have lunch with us, enjoy the music of Johnny Ray Gomez, and take this chance to really find out what our senior centers are all about."

Reservations are required by calling 402-416-7693 by Tuesday, August 30.

September is recognized by the National Council on Aging as National Senior Center Month. More information on Aging Partners is available at aging.lincoln.ne.gov.
