Mayor Partners With Leadership Lincoln on State of the City Address

Mayor Chris Beutler and Leadership Lincoln invite the public to the Mayor's State of the City Address Wednesday, September 14 at the Holiday Inn Downtown, 141 N. 9th St. An optional buffet breakfast will begin at 7:15 a.m., and the program will begin at 7:45 a.m.

"I am excited to partner with Leadership Lincoln as I present my vision for the City for the coming year," Mayor Beutler said. "For more than 30 years, this outstanding nonprofit has been building our community one leader at a time. We want to invite all current and potential leaders to join us to find out how they can help us build on our City's success and our growing reputation as a hub of the Silicon Prairie."

In addition to the Mayor's address, the program will feature a preview of Leadership Lincoln's upcoming year and recognition of the current classes by Mick Hale, Executive Director of Leadership Lincoln. The organization's programs are Leadership Lincoln Fellows, the Executive Series, Project ALL (Academy for Local Leadership) and Youth Leadership Lincoln.

"In any given week, hundreds of our programs' alumni are working together to provide leadership to our city," said Hale. "We are working to help the people of Lincoln understand what makes this city tick and what it will take to move us ahead."

For those who want to have breakfast, tickets are available for $25 each at or by calling 402-441-4661. Sponsored tables of 10 are available for $350. The reservation deadline is Wednesday, September 7. Those who want to attend the program but not eat breakfast will not be charged, but they are asked to RSVP in order to provide adequate seating.

The State of the City Address will be aired on 5 CITY-TV and will also be available through You Tube and video-on-demand at
