Lincoln Parks and Recreation invites the public to a fundraiser Saturday, December 10 to benefit the "F" Street Community Center's supper program, which serves thousands of free meals annually to children in the Everett and Near South neighborhoods. The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. at O'Rourke's Tavern, 1329 "O" St.
Funds will be raised through donations, food sales and a silent auction for original art and hand-made Christmas tree ornaments. This event has raised more than $18,000 for the "F" Street Community Center since 2009. Cash and checks are accepted. Beverage fees are not part of the fundraising event.
Doug Kasparek, "F" Street Community Center Director, said demand for the supper program continues to grow, and that the fundraiser provides valuable assistance that allows the center meet the community's needs.
The "F" Street Community Center is part of the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department. For more information, visit parks.lincoln.ne.gov.
