Open House on Environmental Action Plan is Wednesday at Gere

The public is invited to an open house Wednesday, July 26 on the draft Lincoln Environmental Action Plan (LEAP). The meeting is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th Street. The City is seeking public input on the draft LEAP before the final plan is presented as a resolution to the City Council in August. In addition to the open house, residents may review the draft plan, ask questions and make comments through Monday, August 7 at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: LEAP).

Mayor Chris Beutler introduced the LEAP earlier this month. It grew out of work by the Mayor's Environmental Task Force and has been in development for about one year. The LEAP outlines the following strategies to reach goals in five environmental areas:

Energy

Land Use

Transportation

Waste

Water Resources
