North 27th Street Viaduct Reduced to Single Lanes August 10

Traffic on the N. 27th Street viaduct just south of Cornhusker Hwy. will be restricted to single north and southbound lanes from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, August 10 for a routine bridge inspection. Motorists are asked to exercise caution around City inspectors while they work in the area.

The inspection enables the City to monitor the condition of the structure and to identify bridge degradation. The viaduct was rehabilitated in 2013, and past inspections have revealed no immediate safety concerns. The biannual inspection is also necessary for the City to meet the requirements of national bridge inspection standards.

For more information on bridge inspections in Lincoln, visit the City's bridge page at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: bridge).

The Public Works and Utilities Department appreciates the public's patience during the inspection. For more information on the project or about the city bridge inspection program, contact Zach Becker, City Project Manager, at 402-613-3763 or zbecker@lincoln.ne.gov
