South 56th Street between Yankee Hill and Pine Lake roads will close at 9 a.m. Monday, September 25, for asphalt repair. It is expected to reopen by October 6. Local access to neighborhoods and businesses will be maintained from Yankee Hill Road. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, including 40th and 70th streets.
The work will repair existing damage, prevent potholes and other types of deterioration, and seal the street surface from winter moisture. The project will provide a smoother, safer driving surface for about five to 10 years.
