Open House for West A Street Improvement Project Set for October 19

The public is invited to an open house Thursday, October 19 on planned West "A" Street improvements. The event is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the West Gym at Roper Elementary School, 2323 S. Coddington Avenue. Parking is available in the north parking lot. Door 19 from that lot leads to the West Gym. No formal presentation is planned.

The project, which spans between the west city limits (just west of S.W. 36th Street) and S. Folsom Street, includes pavement repair and reconstruction to increase traffic capacity, improve safety and storm drainage and provide safer options for cyclists and pedestrians. The corridor will be divided into two projects which are targeted for construction in 2020 and 2021.

City representatives and project consultants will be on hand for questions. Preliminary design concepts will be available for viewing.

Find more information about the project at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: West A) or contact Danielle Vachal, Public Works and Utilities, at 531-289-8211 or dvachal@lincoln.ne.gov.
